Introduction to Centennial
Basketball Club
The
Centennial Basketball Club was founded in 2002 by Sherryl Klosterman. The Centennial BC Fury and its directors and coaches are dedicated
to developing the skills needed for collegiate level basketball players through comprehensive training
and high caliber competition. The purpose of the Fury and its coaches is to develop fundamentally complete players who will be prepared to succeed at the collegiate level. All Fury coaches are experienced knowledgeable professionals who have proven ability to teach and develop young athletes. Our coaches strive to
improve every facet of every player’s game.
Our Primary objective is to help our players
develop the skills needed to compete at the college level and then provide them with the opportunity to showcase those skills
on a national stage. We are committed to providing quality physical and psychological training and competition--locally, regionally
and nationally. This competitive athletic experience enhances social development, contributes to mental and physical health
and teaches the values of teamwork, responsibility, self-discipline and self-motivation.
Our fundamental goal is to promote and develop girls’
basketball, and assist our athletes in achieving personal and athletic success. We are dedicated to giving
all members of our teams the chance to improve their many unique skills associated with this exciting and demanding sport.
In addition, we are interested in our players' personal development as well. Our coaching staff is experienced, knowledgeable, and will be consistent and dedicated to each player’s success. We
will also promote a sense of community & family among our athletes and families. We will provide an environment
that promotes personal growth as well as the development of an elite basketball player.
The Centennial Basketball Club is a successful program today because of the committed
coaching staff and supportive families.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT: To teach, inspire, educate and build young women
through lessons learned from participating in local and national tournaments and camps as part of an organized and competitive
basketball club. To provide exposure to college coaches and assistance with obtaining athletic scholarships for those student
athletes with the desire to play at the college level.
THE FURY EXPERIENCE: During each NCAA
evaluation period our top teams compete in some of the most competitive club basketball college exposure events in the country
including various AAU, NIKE, and US Junior Nationals events. Events are chosen to provide maximum competitiveness
and exposure for our players. Aside from the competitive
value and opportunity for college exposure that many events provide, the Fury schedule includes experiences that, for many
athletes, are firsts in their lives, such as our trips to Chicago, San Diego, Minneapolis and Washington DC. During these
trips players experience sights, cuisine and opportunities that are not only unique to each city, but that help build the
unity of our teams by strengthening friendships that will endure long after
the summer season.
OUR OVERALL EXPECTATION: Let the coaches coach, players play, officials
officiate and parents cheer!
